It's the second weekend of NFL Playoff Picks action where the result will whittle down the combatants to a mere four teams for next weeks Conference Championships. After a run of 9-2 ATS for underdogs the first week of NFL Picks saw that proposition only post a 2-2 mark. As of this writing with Baltimore beating Tennessee, this years mark stands at 3-2 ATS (a respectable 60%). The playoffs tend to become more even as time goes on so will betting the underdogs on Sunday continue to make a profitable NFL Playoff Pick? Let's take a moment and disect this Sunday NFL Picks matchups.

Philadephia at New York Giants

The Eagles beat the Giants in New York a month ago putting them at 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six games overall. With beating the Giants the underdog has won each of the last six games SU in this series. Another stat to consider in this NFL Picks mathup is that Super Bowl champions who are favored by 7 or less points in their first playoff game the next season are only 1-5 SU and ATS since 1980! In addition the team coming off a bye who is off back-to-back ATS wins in the playoffs are 2-10 SU and 0-11-1 ATS as dogs or favorites of 6 or less points when looking for revenge. However, before you go and jump on the Eagles consider that NY Coach Tom Coughlin is 26-13-2 ATS in games off a loss against division opponents (8-4 SU and 9-3 ATS with the Giants). His counterpart is now slouch however either as Andy Reid is 20-14 SU and 23-11 ATS when on the road versus a divisional opponent.

San Diego at Pittsburgh

Chargers come into this NFL Picks contest winners of 5 straight games and are looking to improve on their 12-1 SU and ATS mark in games from December under Norv Turner. In addition Turner is 6-0 ATS in his career in playoff games counting last weeks win versus the Colts. But before jumping on the Chargers NFL Picks teams off an extra playoff victory are only 4-12 SU and 6-10 ATS in their next playoff game when facing a .700 or greater opponent. In addition rested teams who are going against teams that pulled an upset in the Wild Card round and are at home are 14-3 ATS since 1980. Pointing a bit more to the Pittsburgh Steelers is the fact that NFL playoff teams off a SU home dog win are 4-10 SU and ATS in their next game, including 0-8 ATS as underdogs of more than 4 points. To cap if off Steelers QB Big Ben Roethlisberger is 5-0 ATS in his last 5 postseason games.
