Below is a free MLB play with analysis for Wednesday afternoon:

RAYS at TIGERS (Under 7 ½, -110) – 1:05 pm ET #967-968

Not an official play, but I would rate the Under as a light lean this afternoon.

The Rays have won two straight games and they can sweep the Tigers with a win on Wednesday afternoon. The last time Matt Garza faced the Tigers, he no hit them in Tampa Bay. The righty struck out six and walked one in a start on July 26th. He has not given up an earned run in three of his last five starts. Johnny Damon (2-19), Carlos Guillen (1-9), Miguel Cabrera (1-9), Gerald Laird (2-8), Ramon Santiago (0-3), Ryan Raburn (0-3), Don Kelly (0-3), Austin Jackson (0-3), and Brennan Bosch (0-2) all have poor numbers against Garza. Detroit has scored just 20 runs in their last seven games which all came at home.

Justin Verlander gets the start for the Tigers. He took a 3-2 loss to the Rays in Tampa on July 27th. The righty is improved at home where he's 7-3 with a 2.88 ERA and seven Unders in 11 starts. Verlander has gone Under in three straight starts against the Rays whom he is 4-1 against with a 3.52 ERA. Kelly Shoppach (3-17), Ben Zobrist (2-16), Jason Bartlett (1-13), Evan Longoria (3-12), Dan Johnson (0-5), Reid Brignac (0-3), John Jaso (0-3), and Willy Aybar (0-2) all struggle with the righty. Tampa Bay has gone Under in 19 of their 34 daytime games when they hit only .244 as a team. The Rays may have won two straight games, but they are still hitting below .200 over their last eight games. We expect the pitching to dominate this game which means we expect a low-scoring game between the Rays and Tigers this afternoon.
