Below is a free MLB play with analysis for Saturday night:

TIGERS at ROYALS (-115) – 7:10 pm ET #977-978

Not an official play, but I would rate the Tigers as a light lean tonight.

Detroit’s Rick Porcello has benefited from his time in the minor leagues. The Tigers starter has thrown a quality start in six of his last nine games since rejoining the team. He has a new grip for his slider which has made him much more effective. One of those quality starts came against the Royals on August 24th. In that game, Porcello gave up just two hits in seven innings of work. The righty has won two straight starts with his last victory coming against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Kansas City batters are 12 for 65 against Porcello as a team with Mitch Maier (1-12) and Chris Getz (1-7) doing the worst in the most at-bats. Kansas City is 30-36 at home this season and 22-29 against the rest of the A.L. Central.

Bruce Chen took it on the chin from the Tigers on August 23rd. In that game, he gave up five runs and five hits in 4.3 innings of work. Chen's other start against the Tigers was a short one after giving up two runs and four hits in five innings pitched. He's going to need to pitch longer to rest a Kansas City bullpen that was used a lot last night. Chen's numbers are poor against Detroit as he sports a 7.12 ERA in seven career starts against the Tigers. Johnny Damon (11-22), Ryan Raburn (3-11), Miguel Cabrera (6-10), Brennan Boesch (1-2), and Will Rhymes (1-2) all hit Chen well. Detroit is 21-18 against southpaws hitting .275 against them. The Tigers have won two straight games after making a nice comeback in last night's contest. The Royals bullpen has an ERA over 4.50 at home this season and they were the reason for yesterday's loss. Detroit owns the pitching and hitting edges here so we expect them to get s nice road win tonight.
